We love to travel . My husband and I have a lot of places we want to visit. This is hard right now, considering no one is going anywhere fun, but it’s a good time to plan. Here are some things I love, for when we can all escape and get out again! Remember, anything linked to Amazon I have the potential to earn a small portion of the purchase amount. It doesn’t mean I love the items listed any less!

All my liquid items fit in the bag on the bottom left, with the exception of the water bottle. The bag is a quart size and I got it from Sephora ages ago. It just sits on the top of my bag and I can easily take it out when I get to TSA. I can stuff a ton of things in there, but what I take depends on how far we are traveling.

From the top left:

  • Caudalie Beauty Elixir: I’ve been using this stuff for years and I love it. It’s so refreshing and tingly. It has a light smell to it that just lifts up my spirits. You need that when you’re traveling ya know? I bring the small size so I can leave my big bottle at home.
  • Hand lotion: This scent is from The Cottage Greenhouse, but literally any lotion will work. It’s just what I have in my bag right now.
  • Nail oil: don’t want your cuticles to get dry. I decanted the oil from its bottle into the pen style dispenser.
  • Glass nail file: If my nails are feeling ragged I’m more likely to chew on them. Glass files are excellent and I feel like they do less damage than traditional emery boards.
  • Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask and Water Mask: I use both masks all the time at home, but I really only use the water mask on the plane if we are taking a redeye. Very hydrating.
  • Hand sanitizer. I need to say anything more.
  • Compeed blister plasters: These are so freaking good. I got them from Duane Reade one time on a whim when my shoes were rubbing. They actually stick on your feet and prevent the blisters from getting worse. And they stay on for days. Life-changing.
  • A small wallet: Just big enough to hold my ID, cards, metro pass, and some cash. Kept in the way back pocket of the bag, against my body.
  • A notebook and pen: For note-taking and jotting down ideas. You never know when you will need some paper. Also, if you are flying internationally you will need a pen for the customs forms.
  • Anker charging brick: We have a couple of these. I carry the big one in my bag, and my husband usually has the little one in his pocket. Never frantically search for an outlet again!
  • S’well Waterbottle: The best brand of water bottles ever. Keeps your water really cold and is just the right size. I keep mine empty until I go through TSA, then fill it after.
  • Visine, Saline Spray, Tweezers, and NUUN hydration tablets: for when you are feeling not the best.
  • Noise Canceling Headphones: So perfect for the plane. You forget how loud your surroundings are when you’re wearing these.
  • A Turkish towel: I got mine from a subscription box, but I love it so much I bought a similar one for my grandmother. I normally use it as a blanket on the plane, but it can also be used as a… towel!
  • Wireless earbuds: Just in case I want something less bulky than my headphones.
  • A selfie stick: Nice to have for those extra long layovers where you can do some sightseeing.
  • Eyemask: also from a subscription box.
  • Kindle
  • Tablet: It’s great for Netflix and getting some work done if needed.
  • The best personal item ever: Seriously this bag is great. It fits everything and it also fits under the seat in front of you. It’s the perfect purse for traveling. As you can see I decorated it with my own flair! And let’s be real, anyone that suggests a huge personal item to carry on the plane is not flying coach.

I’m sure I missed some stuff. Let me know what you can’t live without while flying!
